BAKU, September 18 – Sputnik. The eighth Caspian Media Forum 2023 opened in Astrakhan.
This year its participants are representatives of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.
The theme of the forum is “Public diplomacy and social media as a factor in bringing peoples closer together.” Participants will analyze the state and prospects of public diplomacy in the Caspian region, present best practices, and also find new relevant channels of interaction.
This large-scale international event was attended by famous journalists, experts, scientists, political scientists, public opinion leaders, and representatives of government authorities.
The forum will discuss a wide range of issues of information cooperation, including in the Caspian region.
As Governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin noted in his opening speech, during the meeting with Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, prospects for the development of mutual trade, increasing cooperation in the field of industry, shipbuilding and logistics were discussed.
According to him, the Russian region has developed close, good-neighborly relations with its neighbors, including the Republic of Azerbaijan.
