Cannavaro Announces 30-Man Squad for USA Trip

Head coach of the national team Fabio Cannavaro has announced the extended 30-man squad that will travel to the United States for the training camp.

Goalkeepers: O‘tkir Yusupov (“Navbahor”), Botirali Ergashev (“Neftchi”), Abduvohid Ne’matov (“Nasaf”).

Defenders: Avazbek O‘lmasaliyev (“OKMK”), Jahongir O‘rozov (“Dinamo”), Rustam Ashurmatov (“Esteghlal”, Iran), Umar Eshmurodov (“Nasaf”), Abduqodir Husanov (“Manchester City”, England), Abdulla Abdullayev (“Dibba”, UAE), Farruh Sayfiyev (“Neftchi”), Hojiakbar Alijonov (“Pakhtakor”), Sherzod Nasrullayev (“Pakhtakor”), Behruz Karimov (“Surkhon”).

Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov, Diyor Ortiqboyev, Quvondiq Ro‘ziyev, Nodir Abdurazzoqov, Alisher Odilov, Sardor Bahromov, Husayn Norchayev, and Muhammadqodir Hamraliyev, who were called up to the 40-man camp in Tashkent, were not included in this list.

The Uzbekistan national team will fly from Tashkent to New York on May 26 to participate in the World Cup. The coaching staff will play friendly matches against Canada on June 1 and the Netherlands on June 8.

The final 26-man squad for the World Cup will be announced before the tournament begins.

For reference, head coach Fabio Cannavaro initially invited 40 players to the training camp. At the end of the camp, the coaching staff will select the final squad for the World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
