Can Yaman Denies Drug Allegations and Confirms His Return to Italy

Can Yaman, the star of the Turkish TV series Early Bird, has found himself at the center of controversy following reports in the Turkish media claiming that he had been detained on suspicion of drug possession. The actor has firmly denied the allegations and stated that he is currently in Italy.

According to Turkish outlets, Yaman was briefly detained in Istanbul during a large-scale police operation targeting illegal drug activities. The investigation reportedly involved several public figures as well as representatives of the entertainment industry. Some media sources alleged that prohibited substances were found in connection with the actor.

However, Can Yaman was released shortly after the incident. No official arrest or preventive measures were imposed, and he returned to Italy the very next day.

In a public statement, the actor strongly rejected the accusations, calling them false and misleading.

“Dear Italian media, the Turkish press has always treated me unfairly — this is nothing new. But please, do not repeat unverified news coming from the Bosphorus. Do you really think I would carry drugs at a time when the police are conducting strict investigations and arresting many well-known individuals? If this were true, I would not have been released so quickly, nor would I have been able to return to Italy the next day. I love you, Italy,” Yaman wrote.

Experts note that the investigation in which Yaman’s name appeared is part of a broader campaign by Turkish authorities aimed at combating drug use, particularly within the nightlife and entertainment sectors. Among those detained are not only celebrities, but also club owners and business figures.

At present, Can Yaman continues working on new projects and reassures his fans that he has no connection whatsoever to drugs.
