By 2030, there will be no dirt roads left in villages-Minister of Transport

At the next “government hour” in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Transport Minister Ilham Makhkamov announced plans for the repair and paving of internal roads.
According to the minister, currently, 70 percent of internal roads have asphalt or gravel surfaces. The remaining 30 percent of roads are planned to be covered with gravel over the next two years and fully paved with asphalt by 2030.
Makhkamov noted that although these works are “under the jurisdiction of local authorities,” separate funds have been allocated in the State Budget. For example, in addition to the 4 billion soums allocated for road repairs, the remaining surplus funds will be used in this area.
