ASTANA, August 28 - Sputnik. The leadership of the Ministry of Energy visited the Karaturun field in Mangistau, where they have not been able to put out the fire for more than two months.

"Given that the elimination of the accident at well No. 303 is a complex technical operation - since the flowing gas is burning, the well is located in a sor area and gryphon formations were observed around the well - Askhat Khasenov (Vice Minister of Energy) recommended to attract additional forces and resources to eliminate the accident" , the message says.

An off-site meeting was held at the field with the participation of experts and veterans of the oil and gas industry and design institutes, Buzachi Neft LLP, emergency response headquarters and drilling companies.

All liquidation work is carried out at the expense of the subsoil user, the Ministry of Energy added.

Recall that at the Karaturun Yuzhny field on June 9 at 03:25, as a result of lifting the drilling tool, a gas-water mixture was released, which turned into an open gas fountain at well No. 303.

The ignition of the well continues due to the high pressure of the outgoing gas.
