Burial processes will be digitalized

The government has adopted a resolution aimed at improving the system for organizing and maintaining records of burial services.

According to the resolution, by June 1, 2026, the “Unified Electronic Archive of Civil Status Acts (FHDYO)” information system will develop the module “Unified Electronic Register of Burial Services” along with its mobile application.

Starting from March 1, 2026, after the death of a person is officially registered, a certificate with a QR code confirming the registration of death will be sent free of charge to the personal accounts on the YaIDXP (my.gov.uz) portal of the deceased person’s spouse, parents, and children.

The certificate with a QR code will be considered equivalent to the official state-issued document.

Additionally, from July 1 to December 31, 2026, the following procedure for organizing burial services will be introduced experimentally in Tashkent city:

• Permission for the burial of deceased persons will be issued by cemetery managers (supervisors) only through the electronic module or its mobile application;

• The practice of keeping burial records in paper form by cemetery managers (supervisors) will be abolished.
