Bukhara Tutor Jailed for Three Days for Offering Student Sex

In Bukhara, a university tutor called a female student at night and offered her sexual relations in exchange for helping her pass her midterm assessments.

The incident occurred on August 14 at around 10 p.m. The tutor called the student several times. Even after the frightened student said she would contact law enforcement, the tutor continued calling her and used inappropriate and degrading language that insulted her honor and dignity.

During the court hearing, the tutor admitted his wrongdoing, said he had been intoxicated that day, and apologized to the student.

The court found him guilty under Article 41-1 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility and sentenced him to three days of administrative detention.
