British Minister for Europe and Central Asia Leo Docherty will visit Turkmenistan to hold talks with officials and business representatives to discuss Turkmen-British cooperation. This was reported in a press release published on the website of the government of the United Kingdom.
According to preliminary data, the state minister will discuss building up cultural cooperation with Turkmenistan, as well as partnerships in the textile industry during a visit to the National Museum of the Turkmen Carpet.
The visit of a member of the British government is planned as part of the Central Asian tour: Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are waiting for their turn. The main purpose of the visit to the republics is to promote British business in local markets, as well as to consider topical issues in the field of ecology, energy and security.
A month ago, Docherty held talks with Turkmen Ambassador to the UK Yazmurat Seryaev, during which issues of cooperation in the inter-parliamentary, humanitarian, trade and economic spheres were discussed.
