Botulism detected in individuals using illicit cosmetic products

The Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety has announced that symptoms of botulism have been identified in certain citizens who used botulinum toxin products not registered in Uzbekistan. The products in question are "Refinex Botulinum Toxin Type A for Therapy" and "Dysport 500." These products are unregistered in the country, and their quality and safety have not been verified. An investigation into their illicit distribution is currently underway. Experts advise anyone who has used these products to seek immediate medical attention if they experience blurred vision, drooping eyelids, difficulty swallowing or breathing, speech impairment, or muscle weakness. Citizens are also urged to purchase cosmetic products exclusively through official retail channels.
