Botir Kadyrov brought to justice

Poet Shamsiddin Turayev filed a complaint with the Ministry of Justice against singer Botir Kadyrov for using his poems in songs without paying royalties in due course. The Intellectual Property Department of the Ministry of Justice reported this.

It is noted that, based on the appeal of poet Shamsiddin Turayev, known under the pseudonym "Shamsiddin Sadoiy", the Ministry of Justice found that his poems "Davlating borida", "Omonat" and "Tingla do'stim" were used by singer Botir Kadyrov without the permission of the copyright holder and without paying royalties in due course.

In this case, a report on an administrative offense was drawn up against the offender under Article 177 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Violation of Copyright and Related Rights) and sent to the appropriate court. According to the decision of the Chilanzor District Court of the Tashkent City for Criminal Cases, the offender was fined 1 million 875 thousand soums in the amount of 5 times the base calculation amount under the relevant article of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility.
