Blogger who beat up a taxi driver in Tashkent has been detained

A blogger who assaulted a taxi driver in Tashkent has been detained. Qahramon Khudoyberganov, a representative of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, announced the news.
The incident occurred on August 17 in the Yashnabad district. A dispute arose between the taxi driver, Yoqubbek Juraboyev, and a female passenger. Subsequently, two bloggers—acquaintances of the woman—arrived at the scene, got into an altercation with the driver, and used physical force against him. The driver was hospitalized with bodily injuries.
Initially, the bloggers accused the driver of sexually harassing the woman and circulated videos regarding the incident on social media; however, the videos were later deleted. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the blogger who assaulted the driver has been detained.
Additionally, a criminal case has been opened against the female passenger—suspected of slandering the taxi driver—under Article 139, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (Slander). The investigation is ongoing.
