Negotiations between U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu ended on the morning of October 17. The negotiations took nine hours. The meeting was interrupted after the air trevogas sounded, forcing Blinken and Netanyahu to land briefly in the bunker.
“We are concerned that HAMAS with Israel will suspend or destroy aid to Gaza, preventing aid from reaching people in need. If HAMAS somehow prevents the delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilian population, including its withdrawal, then first we will condemn it and take action so that it does not happen again,” said Blinken.

After Israel, Biden traveled to Jordan to address”humanitarian issues " where he met with King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdul Fatoh as-Sisi, and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas.
HAMAS, which controlled the Gaza Strip, attacked Israel on the morning of October 7. They fired thousands of rockets into the country and then entered the border areas. The U.S. Department of Defense Gerald Ford and Dwight Eisenhower sent a strike team to the eastern Mediterranean area, led by two aircraft carriers, to monitor the situation. According to The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon has sorted around 2,000 soldiers to send to Israel.
