Billie Eilish Could Make Her Big-Screen Debut

Famous American singer Billie Eilish is exploring a new direction in her career: acting. According to Variety, she is currently in talks to star in her first feature film.

The project is an adaptation of the cult semi-autobiographical novel The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Reports suggest that Billie Eilish may play the lead role.

The film will be directed by Oscar-winning Sarah Polley, known for works such as Women Talking and Away from Her. The story focuses on a young writer in the 1950s who struggles with mental health issues.

“The Bell Jar” is Plath’s only novel and was originally published under a pseudonym.

Interestingly, Hollywood has attempted to adapt this book multiple times, but many projects never made it to production. For example, Kirsten Dunst was once set to direct a version, but the project was never completed. Experts suggest this is due to the story’s complexity, as much of the action takes place within the protagonist’s mind.

Billie Eilish has previously tried acting, appearing in the 2023 TV series Swarm. However, aside from composing soundtracks, she has yet to star in a full-length feature film.
