Next week, for the first time in history, US President Joe Biden will hold a meeting with the leaders of five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The meeting will take place within the framework of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, said Jake Sullivan, adviser to the US president.

The press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Asadov, informed that Shavkat Mirziyoyev will leave for the USA next week.

"This will be the first presidential summit in the C5+1 format," Sullivan said.

He emphasized that this summit is not directed against any country, it is about the positive agenda that the USA can establish with the five countries of Central Asia.

"A number of issues will be discussed at the meeting: from regional security to trade and relations to climate change," Sullivan said.

Before the meeting, the US president will give a speech at the UN General Assembly, where he will outline the measures to solve the "urgent problems" of the world.

On September 5, the 78th session of the UN General Assembly opened in New York. On September 19-23, a high-level week will be held with the participation of presidents, heads of government and foreign ministers.

The mass media reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also planning to go to the USA and meet with Biden at the White House.
