The investigation against Hunter Biden began in 2018. In the summer of 2023, the president's son struck a deal with the US Department of Justice in which he pleaded guilty to two tax evasion charges from 2017-2018, in exchange for the illegal possession of weapons charges against Hunter to be dropped two years later. had to be removed.
