The closing ceremony of the second Games of the CIS countries was held in Minsk, during which the symbolic flag of the competition was lowered from the flagpole and handed over to the representative of Azerbaijan, where the next Commonwealth Games will be held in 2025, RIA Novosti reports.
During the closing ceremony of the Games of the CIS countries, in particular, there was a parade of athletes who took part in the competitions and volunteers. After that, the flag of the CIS, which was hoisted in the capital's Minsk-Arena complex to mark the start of the Games in Belarus, was lowered from the flagpole. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Igor Petrishenko handed it over to Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev. The next competition, which is scheduled for 2025, will be held in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja.

The mascot of the competition Rysik also said goodbye to the spectators of the Games, who returned to his fabulous forest - to Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
Then the ceremony was continued by a disco, the headliner of which was announced by the performer Khabib.
Games of the CIS countries were held from August 4 in 10 cities of Belarus. The competitions had an open format - about 2.2 thousand athletes from 22 countries took part in them. Competitions were held in 20 sports, 246 sets of awards were played.
Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Sergei Kovalchuk said earlier that the format of the Games of the CIS countries is of interest to foreign countries. He also expressed the opinion that the games in Azerbaijan will be held on an even larger scale.
