Bekmurod Abdullayev has been appointed to a new position.

Major General Bekmurod Abdullayev was appointed head of the Internal Affairs Department of the Chilanzar District by order of the Minister of Internal Affairs.

Born in 1975, Abdullayev graduated from the Samarkand Higher Military Automotive and Engineering Command School in 1997 and Namangan State University in 2009. He served as First Deputy Commander of the National Guard from 2020 to 2021, and as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs—Head of the Public Security Service—from 2021 to 2025.

Abdullayev was dismissed from his post in November 2025. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of embezzling 186 billion soums in budget funds during state procurements, abusing his official authority, and committing other crimes. In April 2026, it was reported that he and Rustam Tursunov, the former head of the Main Directorate for Execution of Punishments, had been released. According to sources, seven other officials were released alongside them, and the damages caused were compensated.
