Aziz Hakimov sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison
A verdict has been issued in the criminal case involving blogger Aziz Hakimov, who was accused of making statements against the sovereignty of the Republic of Uzbekistan and promoting Soviet-era ideology.
The court found him guilty of defamation, insult, and incitement to national, racial, ethnic or religious hatred and sentenced him to 4 years and 2 months in prison.
At the same time, the court acquitted Hakimov of the charge of promoting war. His Telegram channel, “Comrade_Aziz,” will be blocked.
The six victims in the case have been granted the right to file a civil lawsuit seeking compensation for material and moral damages.
