The new railway-ferry service will ensure the timely delivery of goods.
ADY Container LLC, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), offered shippers an alternative route in connection with repair and restoration work on the Georgian section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway.
According to ADY Container, the new route provides for the delivery of goods by ships from the Turkish ports of Derince, Mersin, Alsancak, Marport and Evyap to Georgian Poti and Batumi.
Then the containers will be reloaded onto platforms and delivered by rail to the port of Baku. Then the cargo will be sent to the ports of Aktau (Kazakhstan) and Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), and from there by rail to destinations in the countries of Central Asia.
The company's information indicates that the new rail-ferry service will ensure the timely delivery of goods and the integrity of the supply chain.
