Azerbaijan may start performing heart transplant operations.

Report informs, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis, Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov said at the 8th International Congress "Baku Heart Days".

He noted that this issue is reflected in the law "On Donors and Organ Transplantation" adopted two years ago: "The law allows for heart surgery in Azerbaijan, as well as heart transplantation. We also have a sufficient number of specialists who can perform heart transplantation in Azerbaijan. Currently, work is underway in this direction. In this regard, the Ministry of Health and other relevant bodies are holding discussions. In the near future, heart transplantation can be carried out in Azerbaijan."
