Azerbaijan detained 6.3 thousand illegal migrants this year, more than 2 thousand of them were expelled from the country

In January-August 2023, 6,306 foreigners and stateless persons were detained as part of the fight against illegal migration.

Report informs, the information was released by the State Migration Service.

During this period, 2,331 foreigners who violated the migration legislation were expelled from the Republic of Azerbaijan in an administrative manner, their entry into the country was limited for the period established by law, and the rest were given the opportunity to legalize their stay in the country or voluntarily leave the country.
