Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan discussed increasing mutual investments

Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Sahib Mammadov met with Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Oybek Khamraev.

During the meeting, issues of increasing mutual investments were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan reports.

S. Mammadov stressed that both countries attach special importance to the successful development of bilateral relations. According to him, last year the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan increased. However, there is significant potential for expanding cooperation in the field of trade.

The issues contained in the intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Uzbek Investment Fund contribute to increasing mutual investment and trade, strengthening economic cooperation.

O. Khamraev, in turn, stressed the interest of his country in the implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan in various directions.

During the meeting, the activities carried out to strengthen economic cooperation were also discussed.
