Azerbaijan and UAE to sign new agreement in consular sphere

The first consular consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates took place in Abu Dhabi.

This was reported to Report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by the head of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Emil Safarov, and the UAE delegation was headed by Assistant Deputy Minister for Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE Faisal Lutfi.

During the consultations, the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in the consular sphere between Azerbaijan and the UAE were discussed, including the signing of a new bilateral document in this area and the possibility of digitalizing consular services.

An agreement was reached to hold regular consular consultations between the parties in 2024 in Baku.
