Attendance monitoring using "smart" cameras is being tested in schools

In some schools in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent, “smart” cameras are being installed on a trial basis to monitor student attendance. The system works in conjunction with the Smart School program.

According to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, this technology will serve to more effectively monitor student attendance and ensure safety. Parents will also be able to track their children’s arrival at school online.

Currently, attendance is mainly recorded by subject teachers and class teachers via the “e-school” platform. Parents of students who miss classes without a valid reason are sent a warning. If a student regularly misses classes, their parents may be fined in accordance with the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
