Athlete fined for promoting violence against women

In Tashkent, athlete Solihjon Ibragimov was held administratively liable after posting an Instagram video that promoted violence against women.

He shared a training video with the caption: “I'm training so that my future wife will only receive accurate punches.”

Following the post, Irina Matviyenko, head of the Nemolchi.uz project, filed a complaint with the law enforcement authorities, requesting legal action.

During the court hearing, Ibragimov fully admitted his guilt and expressed remorse for his actions.

The court found him guilty under Article 189¹ of Uzbekistan’s Code of Administrative Responsibility and imposed a fine of 60 Basic Calculation Units (24.72 million Uzbek soums). In addition, his iPhone 15 Pro Max was confiscated in favor of the state.
