Trainings are being held in Ashgabat as part of the School of Human Rights for Youth with Disabilities. The course, organized under the auspices of the Regional Office of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for Central Asia, will introduce 18 young people to the UN Convention on Human Rights, its provisions, as well as the main approaches to protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
The first series of trainings took place from 10 to 13 April. After the final course of study, the practical part of the School will begin, which includes the organization of various campaigns to promote the rights of people with disabilities.
The Human Rights School for Youth with Disabilities project was launched in April this year by the Regional Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) for Central Asia. The implementation of this initiative is of particular relevance in the year of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
