Ashgabat hosts training for young families on healthy relationships and safe migration

The USAID Safe Migration in Central Asia Program in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, organized a two-day training course in Ashgabat for young Turkmen families on promoting healthy family relationships, preventing substance use, promoting healthy relationships, and preventing risks of human trafficking.
The event, which started on July 25 at the conference hall of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, brought together 120 people, including young couples, as well as representatives of USAID, UNODC, NGOs and educational institutions.
The first day of the training was dedicated to family values, prevention of human trafficking. The trainers taught the participants the behavioral skills needed to successfully start a family life, as well as to resolve family conflicts, raise children, eliminate bad habits and develop abilities that strengthen family ties.
The speakers also focused on the legal aspects of combating human trafficking, considering the mechanisms for contacting the relevant authorities when this problem is identified.
On the second day, presentations will be held on communication skills, the basics of family budgeting, participants will be introduced to the principles of online security and the possible risks of psychological violence (bullying) in social networks.
The main goal of the two-day workshop is to raise public awareness of the risks of drug abuse and human trafficking.
