As forests shrink, nature is losing its color

A new study conducted in Brazil has shown that as forests are cut down and replaced with monocultures such as palm, coffee, or banana plantations, butterflies are also losing their colors and becoming more uniform.
Experts report that not only are butterfly species declining, but their bright colors are gradually fading. Most worryingly, this process is not limited to butterflies. Due to human activity, oceans, corals, and even images of Earth taken from space are losing their vibrancy.
