The Prosecutor General told the head of state about the work of the supervisory body in the field of business inspections, combating torture and protecting investors

Artificial intelligence will help search for assets illegally acquired and removed from Kazakhstan, Prosecutor General Berik Asylov emphasized at a meeting with President Tokayev.

“Berik Asylov reported on the measures being taken to return illegally acquired assets. IT technologies using artificial intelligence will be used to search for assets transferred abroad and uncover illegal schemes,” the presidential press service reported.

In addition, Asylov spoke about the work to support significant investment projects, including more than 900 investment projects taken for monitoring by prosecutors, problematic issues of 41 investors were resolved, the press service noted.

He noted that in order to increase investment security guarantees, it was proposed to introduce digital solutions that would allow real-time monitoring of all project implementation processes and coordination with the prosecutor of key decisions of government agencies regarding business.

According to Asylov, within the framework of the three-tier model, criminal prosecution of entrepreneurs has been reduced by 3 times - from 614 to 204.

“The unjustified involvement of 1,041 persons in the criminal orbit was prevented, the number of violations of constitutional rights decreased by 29%, from 310 to 222,” the message states.

Speaking about combating torture, the Prosecutor General emphasized that 29 thousand video cameras were installed in 54 correctional institutions, and the number of complaints from prisoners about torture decreased from 94 to 17.

“This year, 40 persons accused of committing serious and especially grave crimes have been extradited from abroad. In total, Kazakhstan has concluded 73 agreements in the criminal legal field with 34 foreign countries,” Akorda said in a statement.

️Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the press service noted, drew attention to the need to strengthen the rule of law in all spheres of the country’s life.
