Approximately 300 schools in Northern Ireland have received bomb threats via email. The messages claimed that explosive devices were present at the schools, and each email concluded with the phrase "Allahu Akbar."
According to the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the schools received identical threatening messages. While it was initially reported that over 150 schools had received such communications, the number has since risen to nearly 300.
Northern Ireland’s Education Minister, Paul Givan, told journalists that the threats also included a demand for the implementation of Sharia law in the country. However, the source of the messages has not yet been independently verified.
The Minister noted that, based on an initial assessment, the threats sent to the schools were not considered to pose a genuine danger. Nevertheless, some educational institutions were closed as a security precaution.
Paul Givan condemned the disruption to school operations and expressed deep concern regarding the situation.
School administrators have been provided with appropriate guidance and are being kept regularly updated on the situation.
