Anomalous Heatwave in France Claims Seven Lives
Seven people have died as a result of the record-breaking heatwave currently affecting France. According to reports, five of the victims drowned, while two others died during an outdoor sports event.
In addition, 16 people have been hospitalized due to the extreme heat, with 10 of them reportedly in critical condition.
Meteorologists stated that temperatures in some parts of the country exceeded 37°C, marking a historic record for the month of May in France. The unusual heat is also affecting United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy.
Experts explain the phenomenon by climate change and the formation of a “heat dome” over Europe.
