On July 1, at 8:50 p.m., preventive inspector Senior Lieutenant Abdurasul Abduvaliyev, who responded to a call about a fight in the “Yuksalish” neighborhood of Khojaabad district of Andijan region, was stabbed to death while on duty.
It turned out that 63-year-old Yunusaly Kholbazorov was threatening his family members while intoxicated. When he tried to calm him down, he stabbed the inspector and fled the scene.
Despite the assistance provided, Abduvaliyev died while being taken to the hospital.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The search for the suspect is ongoing.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs expressed its deepest condolences to the relatives of the deceased inspector.
