Andijan: One Person Dies After Drinking Technical Alcohol

A tragic incident occurred in Andijan, where four employees of School No. 36 were poisoned after consuming technical alcohol. According to initial reports, the event took place on the night of October 22. Among those involved were the school principal, the maintenance manager, and two other staff members. Believing the liquid stored in the school’s laboratory to be drinkable, they consumed it — unaware that it was toxic industrial alcohol.

The maintenance manager died at the scene before emergency services could arrive. The principal and two others were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors are fighting to save their lives.

Authorities have launched a pre-investigation into the incident. Forensic examinations have been ordered to determine the source of the alcohol and how it came to be accessible to staff. Investigators are considering possible negligence and violations of chemical storage regulations within the school.
