An extremist group was detained in Surkhandarya

According to the state security service, the activities of an illegal group of supporters of the terrorist organization “Tawhid and jihad Katiba” were exposed in Surkhandarya.

According to the court decision, 20 members of the group were found guilty of terrorism and extremism articles of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 6 to 13 years in prison. Some other members were given relief on humanitarian principles.
Members of the group were found to have discussed terrorist ideas at religious rallies, studied instructions for the preparation of explosives, and some joined the ranks of militants in Syria.
