An explosion occurred at the party congress in Pakistan

At least 35 people were killed and 200 injured in an explosion at the congress of the "Council of Islamic Scholars" party in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, Geo TV channel reports, citing emergency services.

The incident happened around 16:00 local time. The police called this explosion a terrorist attack.

Party leader Hafiz Hamdulla said that he was also supposed to participate in the congress, but could not participate due to personal reasons. He noted that he condemned the explosion, called the incident "terrorism", and demanded that the country and regional authorities start an investigation.

Hamdullah also urged party supporters to donate blood to help victims of the blast.

Pakistan People's Party Chairman, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the federal and provincial governments should bring the accomplices of terrorists to justice. Expressing his condolences to the families of the victims, he emphasized that the organizers of the terrorist attack should be destroyed.
