An event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Absamat Masaliyev was held in Bishkek

Absamat Masaliyev made a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov stressed.

President Sadyr Zhaparov spoke at an event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Hero of Kyrgyzstan, prominent state and political figure Absamat Masaliyev. 

Masaliyev was the head of the Kyrgyz SSR from 1985 to 1990.

"He made a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan, going from an ordinary miner to the head of state, despite the difficulties of the transition period. During the years of his leadership, Kyrgyzstan has seen steady growth in all sectors of the economy, " the President said.

According to Zhaparov, then the construction industry was revived, as a result of which many schools and other social facilities were built.

The President added that during his tenure as Chairman of the Supreme Soviet, Masaliyev was one of the brightest personalities in the history of the Kyrgyz parliament, who sincerely supports his people.
