In Bukhara, an "Archaeological Park" was created in the main architectural monument of the noble city - the Ark fortress. This corner has been closed to visitors and tourists for 103 years.

It is known that the construction period of the "Ark" fortress, which is called the Bukhara fortress, that is, the ancient part of the city, dates back to the IV century BC. Ark fortress, which is connected with Alp Er Tonga or Afrosiyob, the founder of the state of Turkic peoples, and is said to have been built by his son-in-law Siyovush, hides the history of Bukhara for more than three thousand years.

According to history, the charm of this castle, which received the status of a town within the city, was not fully revealed for many years. The reason is that during the occupation of Bukhara in 1920, two-thirds of the ancient fortress was completely destroyed, so this area was "surrounded" by tourists.

As a result of the reforms aimed at preserving the national cultural heritage and reviving it in the way of rapid development of tourism, large-scale restoration and repair-restoration works were also carried out in the Bukhara Arch.

"At the same time, the establishment of a new tourist center for foreign and local tourists - "Archaeological Park" - in the ruined part of the Ark fortress, which occupies an area of almost 4 hectares, allows to restore the fortress as a tourist resort. More precisely, in this "Archaeological Park" visitors to the city can see the foundations of the fortress that have been preserved to us, get acquainted with the excavation works, and observe the sights of old Bukhara. According to their wishes, tourists will directly participate in archaeological excavations," said the deputy governor of the region, Botirjon Shahriyorov.

Yesterday, the opening ceremony of the "Archaeological Park" was held, which serves to further develop the domestic and foreign tourism network.

Botirjon Shahriyorov said that this historic place will serve as a new exclusive tourist attraction for foreign tourists and local residents as a restored tourist area.

As part of this project supported by UNESCO and implemented in collaboration with scientists of the famous Louvre Museum in France, corridors and a shed with a porch are built from ancient bricks and stones, and a number of additional amenities are being created for tourists.

Yelizaveta Nekrasova, a well-known architect in the republic, a project participant at the opening of the "Archaeological Park", said that during the restoration and repair work, the 120-meter wall of the back of the Ark fortress was covered with baked bricks, which lost its historical significance. stated that he did not freeze.

According to experts, the partially preserved Abdulghazi mausoleum, Khanaqah and bathhouse, antiques museum and other structures found in the area will once again show the beautiful history of Bukhara to those who come to this ancient park.
