American astrophotographer Andrew McCarthy has presented a stunning image that caused a huge buzz online.

He captured the exact moment a skydiver was rapidly descending through the atmosphere and passing directly in front of the Sun. The photo was taken on November 8 in Arizona. The skydiver reportedly jumped from a small engine-powered paramotor at an altitude of about 1,070 meters. To ensure both the Sun’s disk and the skydiver appeared sharply in a single frame, McCarthy positioned his camera 3.2 km away.

According to the photographer, the combination of precise distance, perfect timing down to the second, and immense patience resulted in this extraordinarily rare and breathtaking image.
