Almaty residents can apply for a competition for the improvement of the territories of the metropolis

ASTANA, August 28 - Sputnik. From September 1, 2023, Almaty residents can apply to participate in the Public Participation Budget project.

"Projects that have been assessed by expert councils and become leaders in the voting will be implemented by the district akimats of Almaty in 2024," the akimat said in a statement.

Citizens' initiatives are accepted on the budget.open-almaty.kz portal. The application must include the name and description of the project proposal, the address of the location, indicative photos or a sketch, an estimate of the project proposal (rough calculations and examples from the Internet are also allowed).

Projects must meet the following criteria:
one author - one application - one object;

the object must involve general use;

the object must be located on the territory of the district in which it is planned to be implemented, on a public land plot;

the cost of one project proposal should not exceed 86.2 million tenge.

Offers are accepted in nine categories:
landscaping;

arrangement of sidewalks;

construction and repair of sidewalks, ramps, ditches;

creation, repair and lighting of public places (parks, squares, pedestrian zones, streets and other objects);

repair of curbs, paving stones, retaining walls;

elimination of landfills;

installation and repair of gazebos, benches, urns, equipment and structures for children's games and adult recreation, in public places;

installation, repair and lighting of sports grounds (training grounds, football, basketball, volleyball fields), children's playgrounds in courtyards and public places;

provision of sanitation.

All applications will be considered, and those that pass the criteria will be published on budget.open-almaty.kz for voting.
