Aliyev says Russia and Germany held secret talks in Baku without informing Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that representatives of Russia and Germany held secret talks in Baku from July 12 to 14 without informing Azerbaijan in advance.
According to him, Baku learned about the visit through media reports. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, however, said that he was not aware of such a meeting.
Aliyev also added that if the talks were aimed at ending the Russia–Ukraine war, he could only welcome such an initiative.
