Ahmed al-Shar'a was declared the president of Syria.

Ahmed al-Shar'a (Abu Muhammad al-Julani), the leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group, has been declared the president of Syria. The powers of the appointed president will be valid until a new constitution is adopted in Syria. The new Syrian government has disbanded the army and security services. A new structure will emerge to ensure the security of citizens.
The Ba'ath Party of Syria has also been dissolved. It was the ruling party in the country from 1963 to 2024.
