The scheme of illegal import of Russian wheat under formal contracts for subsequent export under the guise of Kazakh products was revealed by the AFM Department for the Pavlodar region. The identified citizen in the period from 2021 to 2022 exported 26 thousand tons of Russian wheat to the countries of Central Asia (Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan) on fictitious invoices in the amount of over 1 billion tenge, confirming their Kazakh origin, thereby evaded payment of payments for transportation under the international transit tariff for a total of 460 million tenge. The pre-trial investigation has been completed," the Financial Monitoring Agency reported. In accordance with the requirements of Article 201 of the CPC of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other information in the interests of the investigation is not subject to disclosure. In order to protect the interests of bona fide agricultural producers, systematic work is underway to suppress the facts of illegal issuance of fictitious invoices related to the sale of wheat. Only over the past year and a half, 5 persons who issued fictitious invoices in the amount of over 5.4 billion tenge have been brought to criminal responsibility in the Pavlodar region," the department informed. As previously reported, the gross wheat harvest in Kazakhstan is projected at 16 million tons.
