“Afghanistan poses no threat to neighboring countries” — Zabihullah Mujahid

A representative of Afghanistan’s interim government stated that Afghanistan poses no threat whatsoever to neighboring countries and that most concerns about threats originating from Afghanistan in the region are unfounded.

According to him, Afghanistan’s security forces have full control over the country’s borders, and security has been ensured throughout the country. Responding to a statement by CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov about the delivery of weapons and equipment to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border, Mujahid emphasized that Afghanistan does not pose a threat to other states.

Earlier, the CSTO said that a list of the necessary weapons and equipment to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border had been agreed upon. The first deliveries are expected to begin in the autumn.
