The beach was closed after 28 unexploded shells were found on the Black Sea coast near Istanbul, the capital of Turkey. This was reported by the Turkish TV channel A Haber.
On July 30, Istanbul authorities received a report of explosive objects of unknown origin, so it was decided to temporarily close the beach, as it was not possible to thoroughly inspect the beach due to bad weather.
On July 31, 28 unexploded artillery shells were found on the beach, eight of which were brought to the surface.
It is noted that the shells were 10 meters away from the shore, at a depth of one and a half meters.
The Turkish Navy confirmed that these were indeed artillery shells, but it is unclear how they got to the resort area.
The disposal of the found projectiles is scheduled for August 2.
First, there was an explosion in Batumi, Georgia, on the Black Sea coast. Later it became known that a sea mine exploded 25 meters from the shore, there were no casualties or debris.
