A universal QR code will be introduced for payments

Uzbekistan will introduce a unified standard for making payments via QR codes. According to a presidential decree, the Central Bank will test the universal QR code system together with banks and payment organizations in December 2025. In January 2026, a draft regulatory document for the system will be developed and approved. Starting from February 2026, the universal QR code is planned to be fully implemented in the payment market.

The unified QR code will eliminate inconveniences caused by using multiple payment plaques at points of sale. Customers will be able to make payments using any mobile application or payment service through a single QR code.
