A Turkish company will build a power plant in Uzbekistan

On November 9, 2023, the signing ceremony of the Investment Agreement was held between the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and the chairman of the board of AKSA Enerji Jemil Kazanchi. According to the document, AKSA Enerji will invest 250 million dollars to build a 400MW gas piston power plant in Nishon district of Kashkadarya region under the terms of public-private partnership. The company is engaged in the design, financing, construction and operation of the power plant during the entire period of 25 years of project implementation. Construction work will begin in December 2023, and the power plant will be commissioned at the end of 2024. As part of the visit of the Turkish company, an electricity purchase agreement was signed between "Uzbekistan National Electric Networks" JSC and AKSA Enerji, and with this, the Uzbek side will purchase guaranteed electricity for 25 years from the Turkish investor.
