The Turkish Cengiz Holding Company intends to participate in public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the field of road construction. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
It was reported that on September 14, Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov met with representatives of the Turkish Cengiz Holding company. At the meeting, issues of cooperation in the implementation of public-private partnership projects in the field of transport were discussed in detail.
In particular, the representatives of the Turkish company stated that they are interested in participating in promising projects for the construction of toll roads in Uzbekistan.
The representatives of the foreign company were informed about the projects planned to be implemented on the basis of PPP in the field of transport and road management in Uzbekistan.
The construction of the first toll roads in Uzbekistan was announced in 2018. At that time, it was said that the German company GP Günter Papenburg could be involved in the construction of the first such roads. In 2019, the Committee of Motorways announced that a place was being selected for the construction of the first toll road in Uzbekistan.
In October 2022, it was said that the Tashkent-Andijan and Tashkent-Samarkand toll highways will be completed by 2026.
