An educational and research center on cyber security will be established in Tashkent. This was reported by "Dunya" agency.
Rector of Tashkent International University of Westminster, Bahrom Mirqasimov, held talks with Ho Chin Kuan, Rector of Malaysia's Asia and Pacific University of Technology and Innovation. As a result of the negotiations, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the two universities.
Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) was founded in 1993. It was awarded the status of a leading university specializing in digital technologies by the Digital Economy Corporation of Malaysia. According to QS Rankings, it is among the world's leading 700 universities. The university has scientific centers for the use of artificial intelligence in industry, robotics, cyber security, creative industry, and the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
During the visit, the rector of the Tashkent International University of Westminster also discussed the prospects of cooperation with leaders of leading higher education institutions such as Taylor's University, UOW Malaysia, INTI International University.
As a result of the meetings held, the training of teachers and the establishment of student exchange, the establishment of the Kuala-Lumpur "Summer School" programs on creative economy and cyber security, training on cyber security in Tashkent and an agreement was reached on the establishment of a research center.
Cybercrime in Uzbekistan
In 2020, 106 crimes in the field of information technologies were registered in the country. In 2021, this figure will be 2,281, and in 2022, it will be twice as much as a year ago, 40 times more than 2 years ago, and will be 4,332. 3,372 or 82% of the cases recorded during the year are crimes related to the robbery of money from bank plastic cards.
