On June 24, two powerful earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela. The earthquakes were recorded less than a minute apart. As a result of the natural disaster, some buildings in the capital Caracas collapsed. A state of emergency was declared in the country, and the international airport, metro and railway services were temporarily suspended. The number of dead and injured has not yet been officially announced. Authorities are continuing search and rescue operations. The number of victims is expected to reach from 10 thousand to 100 thousand.
