According to the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the author of the statue was Konstantin Zenich, who was able to create a unique image of the poet Osman Nasir. The Uzbek delegation visited the grave of Osman Nasir, who was buried in the cemetery of the victims of repression in Mariinsk. The Qur'an was recited and the memory of those who passed away were remembered. Flowers were placed on the poet's grave. The event was attended by the Governor of Kemerovo Region Sergey Tsivilyov, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botir Asadov, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, People's Poet of Uzbekistan Sirojiddin Syed and Uzbek students studying in Novosibirsk, compatriots living abroad, local artists and Representatives of the general public of the city of Mariinsk, Kemerovo region participated. Usman Nasir was born on November 13, 1912 in Namangan region. He studied for some time at the screenwriting faculty of the Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (1929-30) and at the language and literature faculty of the Alisher Navoi State University of Samarkand (1933-34). Poetry collections such as "Conversation with the Sun", "Safarbar Satlar" (1932), "Tractorabad" (1934), "Heart" (1935), "Mehrim" (1936), "Norbota" and "Nakhshon" » (1934) epics were published. The play "Atlas" (1935) was staged at the amateur theater in its time. He translated A. Pushkin's "Fountain of the Garden" and M. Lermontov's "Demon" ("Iblis") into Uzbek. Usman Nasir was arrested as an "enemy of the people" on July 13, 1937, first sent to prisons in Magadan, then Kemerovo regions, and died there on March 9, 1944. Source: Kun.uz
